Traditionally wedding portraits are reserved for the bride, the groom, and their families. The project started as a gift to my friend, a visual guestbook. The camera remained stationary on a tripod and the people were told to stand where they wanted in a general space with as little instruction as possible. What emerged was more beautiful than I could have imagined. This classic view turned on contemporary people began to reveal new families, old families, the young, the old, the coupled, the lonesome.
